Blending and Layering:
Making new colors in the drawing Studio
Chalk Pastel
You can make new colors by blending chalk pastels.
You can use a tissue, or finger to soften and blend and soften your drawing strokes.
- How would blending be useful in your artwork?
- How can you control your blending?
You can layer colored pencil or crayon by coloring one color over another lightly.
- Can you see where the colors overlap in layers to create new colors?
- Why do you think it is important to color lightly when layering?
- How does oil pastel feel when you are drawing compared to crayon ?
- Why would you lay down light colors before dark?
