Eclipse Art-Extra Art-First Grade

Totality
August 21, 2017

Solar Eclipse- Where the moon appears to cover the sun.

Corona-the sun's atmosphere, which is visible during a total solar eclipse.




1. Trace a circle
2. Cut it out
3. Glue down with a glue stick (hardly any glue)
4. Chalk  the stencil
5. Use a paper towel and rub outward from the stencil.
6. Remove the circle

Low Relief- Extra Art-Second and Third Grade

A relief sculpture is a form that stands out from a flat background-or it is a sculpture designed to only be seen from one side.





We will create a relief sculpture, by beginning our project like a collage.

  1. Cut out large shapes, and glue down using a glue stick.
  2. Add smaller shapes to finish your collage
  3. Brush glue on collage
  4. Press down foil on top of collage
  5. Add details on foil using pencil

Collage Studio-Collage Around the Room! Second and Third Grade

What is a collage?
A collage is made by cutting up, arranging, and gluing down materials such as paper, string, fabric, and newspaper.

"Coller" is a French word, that means to glue something together, so it makes sense that a collage is when you glue materials to a flat surface.

In collage you can use many different materials

 to make something new!

Interesting papers, torn or cut
newspapers/ any text
magazine pictures
sheet music
yarn
stickers/stamps
buttons
fabric


Collage around the room!

  1. Drawing and cutting out a shape
    Geometric Shapes
  2. Special Cuttingshape scissors, shape punches

    Overlapping-when a paper is partially covering another

  3. TextureTexture tools, texture plates, burlap
    Texture the way a surface looks or feels

  4. Printingrubber stamps

    Monoprint

  5. Embellishments
    beads, buttons, tape, etc.
    Use thoughtfully! Why are you adding it? what is it?
  6. Ephemra
    found papers, magazines, repurposed, recycled materials





Put the right materials in the right box

Clean up the table before moving to the next
