Studio Practice Books

Welcome to Art Class!
We are so excited to begin the school year! We are once again offering “Choice Art” in our classrooms.

What is Choice Art?
Choice Art means you will be learning to work like artists:
  • You will come up with your own ideas for making art.
  • You will choose a studio that is best for your idea.
  • You will be responsible for setting up and cleaning up your studio.
  • You will share your work with your classmates.

First we must learn a little about each studio in our book, Studio Practice.  There is one section for each of the main studios:

Drawing-Collage-Painting-Sculpture-Fiber Art

Each time we complete a section in our book, it means that we have opened a new studio! When the book is finished, we will be ready to start CHOICE ART!

This is our Daily Routine in art class:
Routines are important in a choice art classroom.

Today we are doing a drawing assessment activity. You will be drawing a whole person in your book. You will draw another person at the end of the school year to see how you have grown as an artist!

Reflection/Share Time:

Who did you draw?
How did you choose the person you drew?
What did you draw first?
